Need further convincing that The Almyra Hotel here's 5 more reasons to visit:

  1. The Location

Situated on the beach front, set back in a small hillside looking down the harbour, The Almyra Hotel boasts an admirable location for beachside relaxation. The right mix of bustling restaurants and a place to relax with the children when the sun goes down. A ten-minute drive will take you to the Aphrodite waterpark, which is definitely worth a visit for children (and adults!) or, for a more historical adventure, the Tomb of the Kings is also no more than a ten-minute drive away. Airport transfers (less than 30 minutes) can be easily arranged with the hotel. We hired a car and parked in the free hotel car park, which was great for adventures around the island.

2. The Rooms

Whatever room you choose at The Almyra you are set for luxury and relaxation. With 187 rooms and dozens of interconnecting options, you can create a bespoke holiday. For larger families, the sea view, pool front terrace rooms are perfect for children that want to roll out of bed and dip straight into the pool, whilst you relax on your terrace with a coffee. If taking one child or a baby and are looking for something truly luxurious, stay in one of the hotel’s signature Kyma Suites. The seafront suite offers ultimate privacy with daybeds and a front garden leading down to the sea. Far enough for a peaceful sleep or afternoon nap (yes, please), but close enough to hear the waves hitting the rocks as you wake up. Order your breakfast and have it served to you in your own terrace, then relax on your own private daybed. Each of the Kyma Suites have access to a rooftop terrace via steps next to your front door.

3. The Spa

Tucked away from the main hotel, through a walkway of trees, the AlymraSpa is an oasis of calm. There’s an array of treatments on offer - even a day by the infinity pool listening to the waves of the sea will leave you feeling zen. The spa restaurant has its own lunch menu too with delicious light meals, fresh juices and cocktails. It’s the perfect place for a quiet day with your partner whilst the children play or are in one of the baby sitting and child care options on offer.

4. For Children

On the subject of children. The Almyra Hotel provides child care and activities for children aged between 4-months and 11-years with four different clubs - Globetrotters, Adventurers, Voyagers and Pioneers. They have excellent facilities and excursions; they can even go off to the waterpark for the day whilst you enjoy some spa treatments (see above). The children’s pool, which looked just as stylish as the rest of the hotel, has a canopy over the area so they can play all day under cover. Alymra also has a ‘Baby Go Lightly’ service, meaning you can order everything you need in advance to make your journey a little lighter - like travel cots, baby walkers, bottle warmers, potties and so on.

5. The Restaurants

The main restaurant, Mosaics is perfect for your daily breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet is exceptionally good, with made-to-order omelettes (highly recommend!) and heaps of local delicacies and European classics. Our favourite restaurant, The Ouzeri, made us feel as though we were entering a scene of Mamma Mia as we walked down the steps to the beachfront tables, surrounded by candle lit tables and animated staff. Not to mention the delicious food, a typical Cypriot restaurant serving meze and fresh, local fish. For something a bit more romantic, Almyra’s third restaurant serves sushi and cocktails in a relaxed beach club setting with low cushioned seats. A tip for the adults - if you enjoy a glass of wine, choose the Vasilikon wines from the menus in the hotel. You’ll find bottles served around Cyprus and can visit the winery in Kathikas (30 minutes away) a beautiful mountain top venue with live music. Children are also welcome, it’s a great evening out! Almyra also offers a creative kids menu with smaller portions and healthy options for even the fussiest of kids.
